In less than a year at its new home, NIU continues to attract “top talent” to its President’s Lecture Series, which features candid conversations with key national security and intelligence community (IC) leaders. These sessions are “fan favorites” among students and faculty alike.

From senior IC leaders in Washington to international security experts from around the world, these sessions engage attendees, simultaneously enlightening them to the challenges and opportunities facing today’s intelligence professionals.

The distinguished guest speakers bring both energy and humor to a diverse array of topics, including cybersecurity, intelligence integration, diplomacy, and support to the warfighter. In addition to those pictured, during 2017, NIU is proud to have hosted: the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Coast Guard’s Assistant Commandant for Intelligence, CIA’s Deputy Director for Operations, and many other senior experts from across the IC.

Although topics have varied over the past nine months, each guest lecturer has expressed a strong commitment to education, emphasizing the importance of an appetite for knowledge and learning. Each speaker closes their remarks in his or her own unique manner, but the recurring charge for the students – who will become tomorrow’s leaders – is to build upon and improve the foundation that has already been laid by those in whose footsteps they will follow.
